Therapy for Women, from a Woman Who Gets It — In Wichita, Kansas and Online

What to Expect in Therapy

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming — especially when you’ve been carrying so much on your own. Whether you’re ready to start or still have questions, I’m here to make the process as comfortable and straightforward as possible.

What Are Therapy Sessions Like?

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and make sure we’re a good fit. I’ll spend time learning about what’s been bringing you stress or pain, as well as your goals for therapy. We’ll also talk about your background — things like your relationships, health, and work or family life — so I can get a full picture of both your needs and strengths.

Future sessions tend to be more relaxed and conversational. We might start by checking in about your week or following up on where we left off. I’ll tailor our work together to fit your preferences — some people like a more structured, hands-on approach, while others prefer something more open and flexible. We’ll figure out what works best for you.

How Long Are Sessions and How Often Will We Meet?

Sessions last about 53—60 minutes. Most clients meet weekly or every other week, depending on their needs and goals. As you begin to make progress and feel more confident, we may space sessions out further to give you time to practice what you’ve learned between meetings.

How Long Until I Feel Better?

Therapy is a deeply personal process — there’s no one-size-fits-all timeline. What I can promise is that I’ll meet you where you are and help you begin to feel relief as soon as possible. Together, we’ll create a plan that fits your unique goals and keep checking in along the way to make sure you’re feeling supported and making progress.

How to Request an Appointment

You can request an appointment directly through the secure client portal. There, you’ll be able to view my real-time availability and choose a time that works best for you.

Once you submit your request, your appointment will be held. I review and approve new client requests in about one business day. If I have any questions before confirming, I’ll reach out to you securely through the portal.

Before Your First Appointment

Once your appointment is approved, you’ll receive an email with all the information you need to prepare. You’ll be asked to complete a few forms and upload your insurance information through the client portal. Please complete all paperwork at least 24 hours before your session so we can focus fully on you once we meet.

A Note for Parents

If you’re a mom or caregiver, please know that your little ones are always welcome to join you — whether you meet with me in person or online. My office is child-friendly and equipped with toys and baby-proofing. Therapy should fit into your life, not add more stress to it.
